His Majesty, the Living Buddha.

Despite having busy schedules, His Majesty have been making a great effort in visiting all the universities, the schools and other institutes across the country.
On the joyous occasion, His Majesty visited the Royal Thimphu College. Each member of RTC family had been extremely excited to have audience with His Majesty, the generous king of Bhutan. It was the greatest privilege and the remarkable moment for us to have audience with His Majesty.
His Majesty started his speech with us talking about the essence of being self-discovery, genuine belief within oneself. He also touched upon one possessing the good character. His Majesty also talked about a young people to have curiosity and perseverance. He highlighted that those two important qualities should be possessed by every individual.
His Majesty repeatedly talked about having a good habit of reading as a gesture of thanking the grateful fourth king of the country. HM advised us to read a least a book in a month, ten pages a day in other words. HM continued that the book supply  across the country should be improved in order to cultivate the active reading culture in the country.
His Majesty interestingly talked about a beautiful concept of RACE. He also deduced two more catchy words from the above word, CARE and ACRE. He elaborated what each terminology stands for. RACE stands for the country being Relevant to rest parts of the world; the governance, culture and people being Attractive; every indivdudual and the country as a whole to be Competitive; and the essence of having good Education system in the country.
CARE stands for Culture, Agriculture, Relationships, and Economy. Those four concepts are the pillars of the country's stability. HM briefly talked about ACRE. He talked about the significance of caring and making good use of limited arable land of the country.
HM spoke out that he has strong belief in young Bhutanese men and women. He said that he is confident that each Bhutanese can work harder and bring the transformative changes in the country. Further, HM said that everyone expects more from each individual since the country needs more at this time.

Finally, besides giving us priceless implicit gifts, HM generously declared us a day holiday, a party and bestowed a college-wide picnic. Indeed our King is the living Buddha in human manifestation. His words are always polite and farsighted. We wish him to lead us for thousands of years more. We are fortunate to have such a dharmic king. We always love you, His Majesty of the Thunder Dragon Land.

Though tercham’s origin is not clearly revealed, it is believed to be introduced by the great saint Guru Padmasamvawa to beseech the local deities and garner the attention of demons who impeded the constructions of monasteries. A source also depicts that tercham was reintroduced only during the time of treasure discoverer Terton Dorji Lingpa in Nabji-Korphu and Jambay Lhakhang. Hedonic bicycling to Paro

The second day of April was the pre-planned day for five of us to travel bicycling to Taktshang. We were of five who literally planned to land on the cliff of Paro Taktshang. Ozzie who was originally from the beautiful country called Switzerland was the brainchild of the plan on which all of us agreed excitingly. Another guy called Tay Powrie who was from Canada was very happy to join us. Sangay and Tshering were excited, too, as I did it. None of us had arrived at that destination except Tshering. "Here we go," we shouted with astonishment as we meet at the Four friends express way at Babesa. "Eki masho" I spoke in Japanese that I have learned of little when I participated in culture exchange program to Japan. And I used to joke with my roommate Tay often times. Only Tay understood. He laughed out and translated, "Let's go". "We're heading Paro" we trumpeted as loud as echoing it back to the college. Biking started. We desc...
