Life beyond the countryside

I was born in the extreme south-eastern part of the country where I did not have the opportunities to see the nature of the higher attitude area and fantasies of the world beyond Bhutan. I would not have gone beyond my own district if I hadn't gotten to joined the Royal Thimphu College (used as 'RTC' in the following lines).

Exploring beyond my hometown was my first dream I had, after I completed  my high school education. Even if I get qualified for diploma enegineering, I decided that I would not go to a college which is just near my high school. My dream of exploring beyond the my own hamlet has dominated my long-term dream of becoming an engineer. I have never dreamt of joining myself at RTC. And I have never dreamt of pursuing Bachelor degree in arts because after all I came with pure science background from the high school. After the declaration of class XII result, I lost hope to get into a college. Nonetheless, my certain marks had dragged me to RTC to take up B.A. Political Science and Sociology. In the beginning, I was remorseful for joining the college pursuing the course I had never heard of before. I should say that I had forgotten myself to be placed myself in an engineering college. Rather I was carried away by the gentle breeze of exploration beyond my cocoon.

After reaching at RTC, I haven't seen possibility in me to break the shell of extrovance. However, a lot of mesmerizing times started delving upon me.  I never imagined myself to be employed as a Residence Assistant, an on-campus job at RTC. It was the first job I got in my life. Secondly, I have not ever dreamt of flying oversea in my life. RTC sent me for the culture-exchange program to Japan on full scholarship. Japan has become my one of the favourite countries in the world. It is the first and the most everlasting memory I had in my life. Thirdly, Nepal was my another dreamland. I had great privilege to travel to Nepal with His Eminence Gyalwa Dokhampa Rinpoche. It was another unforgettable tour I had experienced after coming to the college.

Most people won't believe me and some would feel like bursting out into a big laugh when I talk about some of the nature I haven't seen in my life before coming to Thimphu. I have seen the snow on the ground for the first time only when I once visited Phajoding monastery. I had a great time in enjoying the beautiful scenario of  my first snowfall at RTC when I was in second year for the time. And this year was my second time to witness the snowfall in Thimphu. I had also a great opportunity to see a mighty ocean and lot of aquatic animals while having tour within Japan. Another most fantastic moment I had was seeing the yaks for the first time while hiking up above the college. And another very historic moment I mark is meeting of my love. I feel providentially happy for meeting my soulmate at the very last semester of college time. She has been extremely caring and loving to me. I have been loving her  (Karma) unconditionally. She will be my betterhalf of my entire life. I consider that we are the only couple who have undying love in at this time.
This year remarked the historic moment in my education journey. I got qualified for 40 slots in the category of Post graduate Diploma in Public administration  (PGDPA) with the score of 61.02% and go to join Royal Institute of Management  (RIM) for a year-long training. I won't have made up to this stage in absence of collection of so many supporters. Firstly, thank you Sir UT and the team for your immediate help in preparing for the civil service examinations. Secondly, I am very grateful to RTC for polishing me under so many brilliant teachers. Thirdly, I am thankful to my parents, relatives and friends for your unwavering prayers. Showered upon me. And I won't forget to pay my deeper devotion and gratitude to those invisible but powerful triple gem for blessing me with no bound.
Now I feel like I have become a full-fledged citizen of the nation. I choosing to flutter along with the breeze of fantastic dreams had placed me in another luminous stage of my life. Had I not chosen to come to RTC, I would have missed all those natural and scientific fantasies that most of the people have been witnessing so far. Also I am very glad for getting an opportunity to serve my king, country and people by being a  humble civil servant. Still I have a lot more remained to watch the full drama on this biggest stage of the earth.

Hedonic bicycling to Paro

The second day of April was the pre-planned day for five of us to travel bicycling to Taktshang. We were of five who literally planned to land on the cliff of Paro Taktshang. Ozzie who was originally from the beautiful country called Switzerland was the brainchild of the plan on which all of us agreed excitingly. Another guy called Tay Powrie who was from Canada was very happy to join us. Sangay and Tshering were excited, too, as I did it. None of us had arrived at that destination except Tshering. "Here we go," we shouted with astonishment as we meet at the Four friends express way at Babesa. "Eki masho" I spoke in Japanese that I have learned of little when I participated in culture exchange program to Japan. And I used to joke with my roommate Tay often times. Only Tay understood. He laughed out and translated, "Let's go". "We're heading Paro" we trumpeted as loud as echoing it back to the college. Biking started. We desc...
